Market Diversification Program education modules

Digital technology and agricultural innovation have presented regional food producers with unprecedented opportunities to reach new customers and retain a bigger share of the profits of their labour. A new program that brings together specialists from research, education and agricultural institutes including CSIRO, Southern Cross University, ANU, the University of Canberra and IP Australia is helping small to medium-sized agricultural businesses in southern NSW and the ACT embrace these opportunities to build resilience following some of the most challenging times in history.

Six education modules have been developed as part of ARDA’s free Market Diversification Program. We invite you to view these digital sessions (below) at your leisure to find out how you and your business can benefit from this free program, funded by the Commonwealth Government:

Innovators and Champions

Successful innovators tell how they introduced new practices and processes to diversify their business models, form strong partnerships and access new revenue streams.

Selling versus Marketing

Do you know the difference between selling and marketing? You could be missing out on opportunities to get your food and beverage products in front of motivated customers.

Brand Awareness

Experts from IP Australia and international business facilitators explain the value of brand and how you can properly protect what you’ve worked hard to build.

Market diversification

Explore innovative new opportunities to reach more customers. Learn how regional producers can take advantage of digital disruption, what the future of digital marketing looks like in Asia, how to build a communal eCommerce platform and how to take your digital store to an international audience.

Regional logistics

Effective logistics are a critical part of the sales process. Gain key insights into how small to medium-sized regional agribusinesses can meet the challenge of successfully moving products to market.

Building a cohort

Working with like-minded people to share costs and knowledge, work collectively to enter new markets and coordinate sustained supply will open up myriad opportunities for your business. Understand the benefits of working as a cohort and building a strong regional brand.

What next?

ARDA is now offering interested agribusinesses across southern NSW and the ACT the opportunity to join regional and industry cohorts so you can work collaboratively with likeminded people to build sustainable supply and enter new domestic and international markets; save money through economies of scale; create a strong regional brand and voice, and build resilience against future economic and public health crises.

Working as a group we will identify the primary challenges for food and beverage producers and develop Regional Action Plans to improve access to support, resources and revenue to build stronger regional communities.
